REMAIN PROFESSIONAL IN THE CONDUCT OF YOUR MILITARY DUTIES – CAB(A)

The Chief of Accounts and Budgets (Army), Major General Adetokunbo Fayemiwo has urged Nigerian Army Finance Corps personnel to remain professional in the conduct of their military duties as personnel. He made this known on Thursday, 25 July 2024, while declaring open a 2-Day Directorate of Army Budget/Army Headquarters Garrison Finance and Guards Brigade Finance Training week at Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.

Giving his remarks, Major General Fayemiwo who was represented by the Group Managing Director, Nigerian Army Welfare Limited by Guarantee Major General Samson Jiya stated that training is an important tool for attaining the desired proficiency in the discharge of duties to units and formations as well as Nigerian Army personnel. He added that participants must embrace the training week wholeheartedly, bearing in mind that their commitment to excellence must be unwavering.

He further stressed that the theme of the training week which is “Sustaining Capacity Building Initiative of Nigerian Army Finance Corps Personnel to Deliver Proactive and Proficient Financial Services in Support of the Nigerian Army”. is centred on topics that will equip Nigerian Army Finance Corps personnel serving in formations and units in Army Headquarters Garrison area of responsibility with requisite skills to provide efficient services at all times.

Major General Fayemiwo further reiterated that the duties and responsibilities of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps is central to the performance and effectiveness of the Nigerian Army, both in war and peace time. “I have mandated all Nigerian Army finance personnel to be proactive and proficient; this will ensure that financial services are rendered to all Nigerian Army personnel, as well as units and formations, at the right time and right place”. He added.

Earlier delivering his welcome address, the Commander Army Headquarters Garrison Major General Koko Isoni stated that Army Headquarters Garrison will continue to prioritize training as it is one of the pillars of the Chief of Army Staff Command Philosophy. He reiterated that the importance of training cannot be overemphasiezed adding that participants are expected to derive maximum benefit from the training week.

He charged participants to pay attention to the lectures and take advantage of the great opportunity offered by the training week to further improve their knowledge and proficiency in handling financial issues in the Nigerian Army.
