The Mining Marshals have decorated newly promoted officers during a formal ceremony held in line with the directive of the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
A total of 13 officers were decorated at the event, which was attended by senior officers from sister security agencies, family members and well-wishers. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the corps’ ongoing efforts to strengthen professionalism and operational efficiency.
The Mining Marshals have remained at the forefront of protecting critical national assets, particularly mining sites, from illegal mining activities, unsafe practices and related criminal operations. The decoration exercise was aimed at recognising officers whose performance, discipline and commitment have distinguished them in the line of duty.
Speaking at the event, the Personal Assistant to the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service on Special Duties, ACI T. R. Arotiowa, charged the newly promoted officers to uphold the core values of the corps and justify the confidence placed in them through exemplary service.
Also addressing the officers, the National Commander of the Mining Marshals, ACC A. J. Onoja, congratulated them on their promotion and urged them to remain disciplined, dedicated and fully prepared to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with laws regulating mining operations.
On behalf of the promoted officers, Elizabeth Faboyo expressed appreciation to the Commandant General and the National Commander for the opportunity to serve at a higher level, pledging renewed commitment to duty.
In total, 21 officers and men of the Mining Marshals were promoted in the exercise. While 13 attended the decoration ceremony, others remained at their duty posts to ensure uninterrupted security operations nationwide.
