The Commander of the 4 Special Forces Command of the Nigerian Army, Doma, Major General A.O. Major General Awolo, who was received with full military and paramilitary honours, explained that the visit was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency cooperation in addressing rising security challenges across Nasarawa State and the North-Central region. He stressed the importance of continuous synergy, intelligence sharing, and joint operations, describing the NSCDC as a “critical partner in safeguarding lives, national assets, and vital infrastructure.”

In his remarks, Commandant Brah Samson Umoru expressed gratitude for the visit, noting that it reflects the growing collaboration between the Nigerian Army and NSCDC in tackling crimes such as kidnapping, banditry, vandalism of national assets, and other emerging security threats. He assured the Commander of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to supporting joint operations, strengthening community-based intelligence, and ensuring all personnel maintain professionalism and discipline while executing their statutory duties.

Earlier, Major General Awolo highlighted the necessity of unified security frameworks across agencies, emphasizing that “no agency can operate in isolation in the face of complex security challenges.”

The visit included a strategic meeting between both leaders and their senior officers, during which key areas of operational collaboration were reviewed. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing security in Nasarawa State and neighbouring areas, particularly in protecting communities, critical infrastructure, and national assets.

Speaking further, Commandant Umoru proposed the establishment of a joint task force and regular operational briefings between the two agencies to ensure rapid response to emerging security threats. He also suggested expanding community outreach programs to strengthen public cooperation with security agencies.

Major General Awolo commended the NSCDC for its proactive measures and reiterated the Nigerian Army’s readiness to support the Corps in intelligence-led operations, training exercises, and emergency response drills. He added that such collaborations are essential in creating a safe and secure environment for residents and businesses in the state.

The visit concluded with a joint inspection of the NSCDC facilities, during which both leaders encouraged personnel to uphold high standards of discipline, professionalism, and dedication to duty.
