Acting on credible intelligence, the Head of Antivalfal Unit CSC Musa Adam Usman, directed the special Antivandal team to intensify patrol and monitor the Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in the State. On Monday 10th of June, 2024 at about 0300hrs the team while on routine patrol successfully apprehended a suspect, Ma’aruf Yusuf ‘M’ aged 26 years from Makudawa Quarters of Katsina Local Government in the State.
The suspect belonged to a team of notorious syndicate that specialises in vandalizing public infrastructure and theft. During the investigation, the suspects confessed to committing the crimes and revealed that on Monday, 10th of June, 2024 around 3:00am he conspired with Aliyu (alis Chakal) and one Haduwa who are now at large. Together they went to Magangarin Makudawa and dug out the streetlights cable using digger and shovel. On sighting the special Antivandal patrol team the two (2) suspects ran way, while Ma’aruf Yusuf was apprehended after attempted attacks to the Operatives with double edged knife, digger, sword and wooden stick.
Further investigation reveals that they had severally vandalized and removed electric wire of streetlights at the same locaction and sold to Mal. Ali(10 KG at the cost of N800/KG) and Ayi Guda (15KG at the cost of N750/KG). Both receivers are scrap dealers at Kofar Guga Garage.

SUSPECTED VANDAL OF ELECTRIC FITTINGS AT MALE HOSTEL OF UMARU MUSA YAR’ADUA UNIVERSITY KATSINA
Based on enhanced NSCDC and Umar Musa Yar’adua University collaboration,the command successfully apprehended a suspected 400 level Student Gaddafi Sani ‘M’ aged 25years from Kuringafa Kofar Fada, of Kafur Local Government Area of the State.
The suspect was apprehended by the special Antivandal team of the Command after vandalizing and removing electric wire from a room in block ‘D’ Male Hostel of the institution.During investigation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime and revealed that on Tuesday 4th of June, 2024 he entered Male, Hostel block ‘D’ in the institution, vandalized and removed the electric cables from the ceiling in one of the rooms in the Hostel.
The suspect while trying to escape with the electric wire, he was seen by one of the institution staff who handed him to the Security personnel attacked to the Hostel.
Before the arrest of the suspects, the institution had complained three incidences of vandalization.

III) 5no. rolls of 2.5 mm electric cables
IV) 18no. rolls of 1.0 mm electric cables.
The suspects will be charged to competant court for prosecution after the completion of the investigation.
The Commandant calls on the good people of Katsina State to be law abiding and obey rules and regulations. He further assures for adequate Security as the Command will not relent in its commitments to uncover all the activities of Vandals, economic saboteurs and other criminals in the State.
The Corps in the State also urges the general public to support the Security agencies by providing actionable and timely intelligence that will help uncover the activities of miscreants in the State. The Command remains dedicated to ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for the good people of Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole.
