Commandant Moriki Strengthens Ties with Emir of Daura, Visits Heads of Sister Security Agencies in Katsina

The Katsina State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant of Corps A.D. Moriki Acti, has received royal blessings from His Royal Highness, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji (Dr.) Umar Faruk Umar, during a courtesy visit to the Emir’s Palace in Daura.

The visit was part of the Commandant’s ongoing strategy to strengthen collaboration and engagement with traditional and institutional stakeholders across the State.

During the visit, Commandant Moriki formally introduced himself as the substantive Commandant of NSCDC in Katsina and sought the Emir’s fatherly guidance, blessings, and support in fulfilling the Corps’ mandate of maintaining peace and protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

He also conveyed the greetings of the Commandant General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, and emphasized the NSCDC’s commitment to deepening community-based intelligence and inter-agency cooperation in addressing insecurity across the country.

The Commandant stressed the importance of traditional institutions in promoting public order and enhancing security, adding that the Corps would continue to build on its partnership with the Emirate to safeguard lives and property.

The Emir of Daura welcomed the Commandant and his team, commending the NSCDC for its dedication and contributions to public safety and protection of national assets. He reaffirmed the long-standing cordial relationship between the Emirate and the Corps and expressed readiness to support its operations within the State.

The Emir also advised the new Commandant to place emphasis on intelligence gathering, professionalism, and collaboration with other security agencies in tackling the rising security challenges in Katsina.

In a related development, Commandant Moriki paid courtesy visits to the State Controller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Comptroller Muhammad Ibrahim; the State Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Controller Umar Baba; and the Commander of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Assistant Controller of Fire Abdullahi Aliyu, at their respective headquarters in Katsina.

The visits were aimed at strengthening inter-agency relationships and promoting collective efforts in ensuring public safety and security across the State.

The heads of the NIS, NCoS, and FFS welcomed the new Commandant and pledged continuous cooperation and synergy in security operations.

Highlights of the visits included inspection of the quarter guard, exchange of souvenirs, and group photographs with officers of the various Commands.
