The Kano State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, has reiterated the Corps’ commitment to strengthening collaboration with media organizations to promote peace, security, and public enlightenment in the state.
Commandant Bodinga made this known when he received the newly appointed General Manager of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Pyramid FM, Dr. Garba Ubale Dambatta, during a courtesy visit to his office.
Welcoming the visitor, Commandant Bodinga expressed appreciation for the station’s role in informing, educating, and entertaining the public, noting that effective media partnership is vital to achieving collective security goals.
Commandant Bodinga emphasized that he has always been a friend of the media and assured the NSCDC’s collaboration and cooperation with Radio Nigeria to ensure the good people of Kano continue to enjoy peace and stay well informed through the station’s educative programs.
In a further show of support, the Commandant approved the deployment of additional NSCDC personnel to enhance security around the station’s premises and protect its equipment and facilities.
In his remarks, Dr. Garba Ubale Dambatta commended the NSCDC for its vital role in safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure, not only in Kano but across the country. He described Commandant Bodinga as a reform-minded leader whose proactive approach has significantly improved the security landscape in the state.
Dr. Dambatta further acknowledged that as a journalist he has monitored the series of successful operations and arrests made by the NSCDC under Commandant Bodinga’s leadership and stated that the achievements speak volumes.
The General Manager reaffirmed Radio Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the NSCDC by offering one hour of free weekly Hausa programming Ranar Wanka and Idan Kunne Ya Ji dedicated to promoting the Corps’ activities and public safety awareness in Kano State.
Highlights of the visit included the presentation of a plaque and a copy of the NSCDC Establishment Act to the visiting General Manager by Commandant Bodinga.
