NSCDC PARTNERS  MINISTRY OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, ANAMBRA STATE TO REDIRECT YOUTHS ENERGY FOR POSITIVE PURSUITS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has pledged to join forces with the Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development to steer youths away from  social vices .

The partnership, announced on  Wednesday,July 10, aims to sensitize youths to shun violence, social vices, and criminal activities that can hinder their potential and harm their communities.

The State Commandant of NSCDC, Comdt. Maku Olatunde, and the Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Agha Mba, reaffirmed their commitment to the partnership during a meeting at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Awka.

Comdt. Maku called on Nigerian youths to abstain from inordinate ambitions, restiveness and other vices, capable of militating against youth development and national security but rather channel their energy into socially beneficial engagements.

He encouraged them to believe in themselves and adopt the “I can be productive principle” to achieve their goals.

Earlier,  Mr. Agha Mba expressed his ministry’s commitment to partnering with NSCDC to redirect the potentials of youths towards productive living, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. He highlighted the success of the “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative,  of Prof. Charles Soludo administration which has empowered youths to become economically productive and socially responsive.

According to him, the empowerment scheme’s success has been further bolstered by its inclusive nature and community engagement, which has earned the admiration and support of grassroots leaders across the state.

He urged the youths to take advantage of the state government’s positive programs and opportunities, rather than resorting to criminal activities.
