NSCDC OPERATIVES APPREHEND FOUR SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN VANDALIZATION, CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY THEFT

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa State Command has successfully apprehended four individuals involved in acts of vandalization, criminal conspiracy, and theft.

Four suspects namely Usman A. Aliyu aged 35, Magaji Aminu aged 47, Sama’ila Badamasa aged 36 all of Zarenawa village in Birnin Kudu LGA, Jigawa State and Abba Sama’ila aged 23 of Bauchi state were arrested following an intelligence report at the Birnin Kudu Divisional office that they sighted the suspects removing electrical and armoured cables from an uncompleted building.

The suspects were apprehended in the late hours of Friday the 05th of July, 2024 during a meticulously planned operation. 

They were alleged to have been involved in the systematic vandalization of critical infrastructure, orchestrating criminal conspiracies, and committing thefts that have caused significant disruptions in electricity supply in the area and financial losses.

Commandant Muhammad Danjuma stated, “These arrests underscore our commitment to safeguarding public assets and ensuring the safety and security of our communities. The suspects will be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

The apprehended individuals are currently in NSCDC custody and are undergoing interrogation. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the suspects have been involved in multiple criminal activities across the region. The NSCDC Operatives is working closely with other security agencies to trace and dismantle the wider network involved in these nefarious activities.

The suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, the State Commandant assured the good people of the State his readiness to fight act of vandalism to the latter and therefore warned vandals to stay off.
