CP DOGO CONVENES A STRATEGIC MEETING WITH LEGAL TEAM OF KANO POLICE COMMAND

… As CP charges Police Legal Team to work diligently in pursuit of justice, calls for continued collaboration with legal institutions to improve outcomes

In line with the directives and vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM to all Police Commands and Formations for ensuring Police services that are rule of law compliant, on 4th of July 2024, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba convened a strategic meeting with the legal team of the Command led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID), DCP Abubakar Abdullahi Shika. 

2.  The meeting which focused on various critical matters pertaining to policing and legal procedures stems from the pivotal role the Police legal department played in ensuring that Police Operations are legally sound, helping in building strong cases, quality legal advices, diligent prosecution and protecting the rights of citizens especially suspects under Police investigations. 

3.  During the meeting, the Commissioner of Police charged the legal team headed by the Officer in Charge of the Command’s Legal Section, CSP Sunday Ekwe Osuji to work diligently in pursuit of justice, fairness and ensuring that the rights of both officers and civilians are protected, and enhance collaboration with legal institutions to streamline judicial procedures and improve overall outcome.

4.  The CP restated that the meeting is also part of the ongoing efforts of the Command to uphold the law and serving Kano residents with professionalism and accountability.
