The Benue State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps was agog yesterday 7th August, 2025, following the prestigious investiture of the State Commandant CC BITRUS ALICE LARAI into the Hall of Fame of the Centre For Ethics and Self Value Orientation as INTEGRITY ICON OF NIGERIA (IION).

Speaking at the investiture session, Ethicist (Prince) Salih Musa Yakubu, Executive Director/CEO Centre For Ethics and Self Value Orientation opined that the State Commandant is ranked 3rd position overall amongst the top ten (10) highly rated most Ethically responsible/corrupt free administration of State Commands of the NSCDC in Nigeria 2024/2025 and the first State Commandant in North Central Zone and first in Benue State to have attracted the Award after twenty years (20) of Operations of CESVO.

The Executive Director/ CEO emphasize that the issuance of Ethical Leadership and Conduct Compliance Certification attracted a cumulative score of 71% during the Centre’s pair review in Public Conduct assessment in ten (10) thematic areas.

“Sir your induction into our hall of fame with the highest life time honorific title of INTEGRITY ICON OF NIGERIA (IION) and issuance of letter of authority for the insertion of our honorific title after your name is a testament of your ethical public leadership qualities and accountability “.

At the history making event, the Command also bagged the Corporate Ethics and Integrity Compliance Award Certificate, having scored 74% Cumulative points in ethical assessment using the centre institutional performance indicators standards to ranked 3rd position overall in Nigeria.

Further more, some outstanding Officers received Letters of Commendations for Outstanding Professional Ethics Compliance and Quality Citizens Service Delivery in the Management and Administration.
The Officers are DCC POLIT CECILIA DEYIN: Head Welfare Department, ACC GUNDU SHIMANA: Arms Commander, CSC GABRIEL AMEH and SC KWAGHGBA FRANCIS: ABWA AND GBOKO Divisional Officers respectively, SC EA MICHAEL: Command PRO, SC TAMDE S RAYMOND: Head Counter Terrorism and Rapid Response Squad, ASCI DEBORAH DADIREP: Personal Assistant to the State Commandant and two Posthumous letters of Commendation to Late ASCI ADOLI SIMON and Late ASCI ERNEST TYOLUMUN AYILLA for recently paying the supreme price.

Responding, State Commandant CC LA BITRUS in her acceptance Speech acknowledged the honour with great enthusiasm to deliver more ethical public service.

“This is a call for greater service delivery”.
She emphasized that the investiture could not have come at a better time than today that incidentally is her birthday.
CC LA BITRUS appreciated the Centre For Ethics and Self Value Orientation and affirm the conscious and deliberate determination of the NSCDC in protecting critical national assets and Infrastructures and to lead with utmost integrity in Service Delivery that is the motto of the service.

Consequent upon this historic induction and investiture, the State Commandant now joins the hall of fame that has so many eminent Nigerian and global icons of reputes in several areas of humanity.
