1 BRIGADE NIGERIAN ARMY GUSAU CELEBRATES NIGERIAN ARMY DAY  2024 WITH ORPHANS AND NEEDY IN ZAMFARA STATE…Commemorates 161 years of Valor And Sacrifice

The 1 Brigade Nigerian Army proudly marks the 161st anniversary of the Nigerian Army establishment with Orphans and Less Privileged children, Pupils and Students in Zamfara to commemorate the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2024. This significant day is dedicated to honoring the memory of our fallen heroes who selflessly laid down their lives to protect the nation and its citizens.

In commemoration of this day, the 1 Brigade Nigerian Army in Gusau undertook various humanitarian activities, ranging from distribution of medical consumables, writing materials, clothing, and footwears to orphans, the less privileged, and other needy individuals in Zamfara State.

Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, the Brigade Commander, led the distribution of clothing materials to orphans and the needy, underscoring the Nigerian Army’s commitment to Civil-Military Cooperation. This initiative is part of the Army’s ongoing efforts to support the civil community in various ways, promoting goodwill and strengthening relationships.

General Ahmed highlighted that the distribution reached approximately 400 orphans and needy individuals, alongside the provision of exercise books, pencils, and pen to Students and Pupils across Eleven Primary and Secondary Schools in Gusau metropolitan area. He noted that while the Army has been supporting rural areas, this event focused on distributing essential items within Gusau.

The Brigade Commander used the occasion to urge the civil community to discourage informants from aiding bandits by reporting military activities. Instead, he encouraged these elements to repent and surrender their arms to restore peace in the state.

Brigadier General Ahmed expressed his concern over bandit activities in the state, affirming that troops are working tirelessly to ensure that farmers can cultivate and harvest their crops smoothly, thereby ensuring food security and economic development. He appealed for public support and cooperation by providing the Army with vital information to help restore normalcy.

Earlier, medical consumables were distributed to  fourteen Local Government Areas within the Brigade’s Area of Responsibilities, Customized Exercise Books were also distributed to primary, junior, and  senior secondary school students in eleven schools in Gusau.

2. Dr. Karima Orphans and Less Privileged Primary School, GRA, Gusau

3. Dan Turai Model Primary School, Hayin Dan Hausa, Gusau

4. Sambo Secondary School, Tudun Wada, Gusau

5. Government Day Secondary School, Unguwan-gwaza, Gusau

6. Government Girls Day Secondary School, Tudun Wada, Gusau

7. General Abdusalam Abubakar Primary School, Hundred Houses, Gusau

8. Girls Focal Primary School, Ungwan Zabarma, Gusau

9. Sarkin Kudu Government Secondary School, Gusau

10. Government Girls Arabic Secondary School, Gusau

11. NAOWA Creche Nursery and Primary School, Alasawa, Gusau

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Nigerian Army for their support, chanting prayers and goodwill messages for the Army.
