GOVERNOR HYACINTH IORMEM ALIA CONDOLES WITH NSCDC, PROMISES TO REMEMBER THEIR SACRIFICES, LEGACIES

The Benue State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, today laid to rest ASCI ERNEST TYOLUMUN AYILLA in his country home Ashina Aliade Gwer East Local Government Area following his gruesome killing along side ASCI ADOLI SIMON on 8th July, 2025 at Udei Guma Local Government Area during a joint security agencies clearance operations by Herdsmen Militias.

State Commandant CC BITRUS ALICE LARAI who presented the heartfelt condolences of the Commandant General Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi OFR Mni to the family of the slain Officer, affirmed that though this is one death too many but emphatically assured the Government and People of Benue State that the NSCDC shall remain committed in strong synergy and collaboration with other security agencies in waging the war against insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminalities in Benue State.
“We are not deterred from carrying out our constitutional duties of providing security for critical national assets and Infrastructures, as well as lives and property”.

CC LA BITRUS opined that this young officers paid the supreme price in defence of their father land, and promised that their legacies of professionalism, hard work and dedication to duties will be eternally remembered.

Speaking on behalf of a strong delegation of the Benue State Government, Honourable Aondowase Kunde, Commissioner for Humanitarian Services and Disaster Management along side the the Director General Bureau for Homeland security Rtd Air Commodore Akaa Jacob Gbawuman, warmly extended the solemn condolences of His Excellency Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State to the NSCDC and pledge the resolve and determination of the Government in showing love, appreciation and support to this fallen heroes.

“”Let me assure you Commandant and the entire NSCDC family that the Benue State Government will continue to stand by you and every sacrifices and price the Corps is paying in defence of peace and security of Benue State”.

Further more, in an emotionally laden voice, Honorable Adi Timothy, Executive Chairman Gwer East Local Government Council recalled with nostalgia the killing of another worthy son of the Local Government following the same trajectory of the killing of DSC Adams in the same Udei Guma Local Government Area in 2013.

Other Dignitaries that attended the burial programme are principal staff officers of the Benue State Command, HRH Chief Dominic Akpe, Ter Gwer, family members and other sympathizers.
