
The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCDC) Katsina State Command, Commandant of Corps Aminu Datti Ahmad deployed 2807 operatives ahead of the burial of His Excellency Former President Muhammadu Buhari who died at the age of 83 on Sunday 13th July, 2025 by 1630hrs in London hospital following a prolonged illness.
Commandant Ahmad made this known during a brief meeting with senior management staff of the command earlier today Monday 14th july, 2025 at the State Command Headquarters Katsina, Katsina State.In the meeting Ahmad disclosed that Commandant General Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi expressed deep grief over the passing of Former President Muhammadu Buhari.The CG also ordered for adequate security deployment to ensure safety and security before, during and after the burial.The Commandant also emphasized on certain operational strategies to include intensive surveillance, gathering credible intelligence, community engagement, collaboration and synergy with other security agencies among others.
Relevant departments, units and special forces were detailed and deployed to ensure adequate security in this period of grief.
Strategic deployment of more personnel were also done in Daura the home town of late President, Umar Musa Yar’adua International Airport Katsina, the Palaces of their Royal Highnesses Emir of Katsina, Daura and other sensitive areas of the State.
Both covert and overt personnel in all the 34 LGAs of the state were charged for adequate protection of all facilities belonging to LGAs, State and Federal Government.
The State Commandant tasked the relevant Heads of Departments and Units, Area Commanders, Divisional Officers,Unit Commanders, OC Outposts and Special Forces to ensure well coordination and proper patrolling to provide watertight Security in the State.
The State NSCDC Boss further charged personnel for professionalism, commitments and dedication to duty.
“Personnel deployed must be very professional and synergize with other security agencies to ensure adequate security” the Commandant reiterated
Commandant Ahmad expressed deep condolence to the family of the late President, government, good people of Katsina State and Nigerians at large.Ahmad further prayed may the Almighty Allah grant his soul eternal rest and reward him with Aljannatul Firdaus.
