NSCDC, Immigration partner on border security in Kwara

The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Umar J.G Mohammed, has urged sustained cooperation among security agencies, to address the issue of insecurity in Nigeria.

Umar made the call yesterday, when the newly deployed Kwara State Immigration Service Controller, Iyabode O. Okuwa-Idris, paid him a courtesy visit in Ilorin.

Commandant Umar stressed the crucial role of collaborative efforts in addressing the diverse security challenges confronting the nation. He emphasised that through concerted action, security agencies can harness their combined resources and knowledge to effectively combat insecurity and guarantee the safety of Nigerians.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to assisting the Nigerian Immigration Service in combating irregular migration and other trans-border crimes within the state.

The Kwara State Comptroller, Immigration Service, Iyabode O. Okuwa-Idris, appreciated the commandant for the warmth reception accorded her, adding that the visit was to familiarise and strengthen the inter-agency synergy between the two agencies under the ministry of interior.

She acknowledged the synergy and cooperation between the NSCDC and the Nigerian Immigration Service, urging more collaborations to minimise criminal activities to the barest minimum.
