Governor Uba Sani Lauds Nigerian Army’s Sacrifices, Reaffirms Support

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has paid glowing tribute to the Nigerian Army for its unwavering service and sacrifices in defense of the nation. Speaking at the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration Gala Night held at the Yar’Adua Multipurpose Hall in Kaduna, the Governor expressed deep appreciation for the gallantry of both serving and retired personnel.

He specifically honored the memory of fallen heroes and acknowledged those wounded in the line of duty, particularly those who contributed to restoring peace and stability in Kaduna State.

“On behalf of the people of Kaduna State, I salute the courage of our fallen and injured soldiers. Their bravery will never be forgotten. We remain firmly committed to supporting their families and ensuring their welfare is not neglected,” the Governor stated.

Describing the hosting of this year’s celebration as a profound privilege for Kaduna State, Governor Sani reiterated the state’s strategic partnership with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies.

“We will continue to collaborate closely with the Army to enhance security across our state. I also commend the Chief of Army Staff for the successful organization of this landmark event,” he added.

As the Nigerian Army marks its 162nd anniversary, Governor Sani extended his best wishes to the institution, expressing hope that it would continue to grow in strength and uphold its proud legacy of honour and duty.

In his address, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, reflected on the remarkable journey of the Nigerian Army spanning over 160 years. He highlighted the Army’s resilience in overcoming numerous security challenges across different operational theatres.

“Despite the daunting nature of our security landscape, the Nigerian Army has continued to rise to the occasion with courage and professionalism,” Oluyede said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to ongoing reforms aimed at transforming and repositioning the Army for greater operational effectiveness and national impact.

General Oluyede also extended his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and steadfast support for the Nigerian Army, which he noted has been instrumental in the force’s continued advancement.
