Zamfara: NSCDC reiterates adequate security network to all religious bodies

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reiterated its commitment to providing adequate security to all religious bodies and legal organizations in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Gusau by the spokesman of the State NSCDC, Ikor Oche, and made available to newsmen.

According to the statement, the State Commandant, Sani Mustapha, said this when he hosted the leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Zamfara Province at the State Command Headquarters in Gusau on Tuesday.

The statement added that the NSCDC is primarily responsible for the oversight function of monitoring activities of religious bodies, as stated in Section 3 of the enabling Act of the Corps 2003.

The State NSCDC boss assured the religious body of the readiness of the Corps to provide maximum cooperation and collaboration in the area of security for lives and properties.

Speaking earlier, the Assistant Provincial Pastor of RCCG in Zamfara State, Pastor Victor T. Yol, who led the team, commended the efforts of the Corps in combating crime in the state.

He explained that the essence of the visit was to reinvigorate and revamp the collaborative status of the Church with the Corps in the areas of security and protection of the Church’s infrastructural facilities in the state, noting that the Corps has responded well to distress calls from the Church in the past.

Pastor Victor, therefore, stated that the Church desires the sustenance of the cordial and mutual understanding between the Corps and the Church.
