In its renewed effort to combat economic sabotage targeting critical national assets and government infrastructure nationwide, the Ondo State Command has intensified intelligence-driven surveillance operations throughout the state.

Based on credible intelligence, the Command’s tactical team, on June 26th, 2025, at approximately 10:00 hours, intercepted and arrested four suspected vandals at the Old Ore Toll Gate along the Lagos Expressway in Odigbo Local Government Area.

The suspects have been identified as follows:

  • Mogaji Ibrahim, a 40-year-old male from Kano State
  • Umaru Adamu, a 32-year-old male from Yobe State
  • Abba Muhazu, a 19-year-old male from Yobe State
  • Adamu Idris, a 25-year-old male also from Yobe State

They were apprehended while transporting vandalised telecommunication cables, PHCN equipment—including transformer parts—high-tension wires, copper and armoured cables, and other cut-to-size metal materials from Kano to Lagos.

All exhibits have been recovered and secured as evidence. The suspects remain in custody while investigations continue to uncover the masterminds behind this operation and any associated syndicates.

The State Commandant has issued a stern warning to all criminal elements within Ondo State and those attempting to use the state as a transit route to other regions. He reiterated that operatives remain on high alert and will not hesitate to root out criminal activities from the state.
