

Troops of 1 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have eliminated a notorious terrorist leader known as Mai Dada during a counterattack in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The operation, conducted between June 25 and 26, also led to the arrest of several suspects.
In Kaduna State, troops from 2 Battalion, while on escort duty in Birnin Gwari, recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition after engaging armed men fleeing on a motorcycle. Several suspects were apprehended, and more than 1,000 arms and rounds of ammunition were seized during multiple operations nationwide.
In the North East theatre, troops of 82 Division Task Force Battalion recovered 408 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, 1,200 rounds of 7.62mm, and two 40mm RPG bombs during a patrol in Ngoshe, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, along a known ISWAP/JAS withdrawal route.
A source told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade neutralised three terrorists during a raid in Bama Local Government Area, recovering a Dane gun and destroying terrorist structures. Meanwhile, troops in Monguno intercepted a vehicle transporting logistics believed to be meant for terrorists.
“One suspect was arrested, and items recovered included 65 litres of PMS, four bags of rice, five bags of groundnuts, four bags of NPK fertiliser, tubers of yam, seven motorcycle headlights, 10 solar lights, 2,000 empty cement bags, four solar panels, and a mobile phone,” the source said.
In Plateau State, troops under Operation Safe Haven carried out offensive operations in Tangur, Kwakas, Horop, Tulus, Jinak, and Hokk villages in Bokkos Local Government Area. Exploiting the mountainous terrain with UAV drone support, the troops recovered a Dane gun abandoned by fleeing criminals.
Additionally, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke rescued five passengers and recovered a vehicle along the Peykia-Wukari Road in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
Similarly, troops of 5 Battalion deployed at Otueke in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State arrested two suspects found with two locally fabricated pistols and one round of 9mm ammunition.
In Edo State, troops apprehended a suspect in Etsako Central Local Government Area with a pump-action gun and cutlasses.
