{"id":9731,"date":"2025-06-05T04:26:32","date_gmt":"2025-06-05T04:26:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=9731"},"modified":"2025-06-05T04:28:50","modified_gmt":"2025-06-05T04:28:50","slug":"naf-reaffirms-commitment-to-defending-nigerias-airspace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=9731","title":{"rendered":"NAF Reaffirms Commitment To Defending Nigeria\u2019s Airspace"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/leadership.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Chief-of-Air-Staff-CAS-Air-Marshal-Hassan-Abubakar.png\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Air Force to defending the nation\u2019s airspace and protecting lives and property across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He stated this on Wednesday during the Second Quarter Route March in Abuja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement by the NAF spokesman, Air Cdre Ehimen Ejodame, the CAS emphasised that the NAF\u2019s highest priority was the protection of all Nigerians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He declared, \u201cWe will continue to defend every inch of our nation\u2019s airspace and stand firm in joint operations to protect lives and property across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRest assured, that your protection is not just an obligation, it is our highest priority. The CAS warned enemies of the nation, including insurgents, terrorists, and bandits, \u201cTo the enemies of our nation, know this: there will be no hiding place for those who threaten the peace and stability of Nigeria. We are coming for you. We will find you and take you out.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CAS emphasised the importance of physical fitness tests in the NAF to enhance operational readiness. \u201cPhysical fitness is no longer a matter of choice; it is a non-negotiable requirement,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs a matter of policy, I have directed that all Performance Evaluation Reports must be accompanied by a physical fitness test certificate. Furthermore, no personnel will be considered for promotion without being medically and physically fit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CAS further disclosed that he has approved the construction of modern sporting facilities across several NAF Bases and the procurement of advanced gym equipment for over 22 units, which will soon be distributed and installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar drew parallels between the route march and the NAF\u2019s broader mission, noting that the journey toward national security and lasting peace is marked by challenges and obstacles. \u201cBe that as it may, those who persevere, who stay the course with discipline, focus, and resilience, will ultimately arrive at the destination. And that destination, ladies and gentlemen, is the place of victory.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLet today\u2019s route march be a reminder of who we are and what we stand for. Let it rekindle our fighting spirit and reinforce our shared commitment to the defence of Nigeria. We are not just marching on roads, we are marching towards purpose, honour, and victory,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The quarterly route march, conducted across all NAF units, is designed to build endurance, foster comradeship, and sustain the physical conditioning necessary for modern military operations. It also serves as a show of force, reminding both adversaries and the public that the Nigerian Air Force remains vigilant, capable, and fully prepared to defend the nation\u2019s sovereignty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Air Marshal Abubakar also expressed the NAF\u2019s gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his steadfast support of the Armed Forces, particularly his investment in operational effectiveness and personnel welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOn behalf of the officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air
