{"id":8845,"date":"2025-05-21T05:42:02","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T05:42:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=8845"},"modified":"2025-05-21T05:43:03","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T05:43:03","slug":"over-1500-residents-benefit-from-navys-free-medical-outreach-in-rivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=8845","title":{"rendered":"Over 1,500 Residents Benefit From Navy\u2019s Free Medical Outreach In Rivers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a class=\"post-thumbnail open-lightbox\" href=\"https:\/\/thewhistler.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Over-1500-Residents-Benefit-From-Navys-Free-Medical-Outreach-In-Rivers.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thewhistler.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Over-1500-Residents-Benefit-From-Navys-Free-Medical-Outreach-In-Rivers.jpg\" alt=\"Over 1,500 Residents Benefit From Navy's Free Medical Outreach In Rivers\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder recently organised a one-day free medical outreach in Rumuolumeni Community, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over 1,500 residents benefitted from the medical rhapsody, which featured a range of health services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The services provided included rapid malaria and urine tests, mass deworming, administration of Vitamin A, free medical consultations, health talks on HIV, distribution of medications, and insecticide-treated mosquito nets for children and pregnant women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beneficiaries were also screened for diabetes mellitus and hepatitis B and C, and treated for malaria, blood pressure, and blood sugar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Commander of NNS Pathfinder, Commodore Cajethan Nnabuchi Aniaku, the medical outreach is part of the Navy\u2019s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and non-kinetic efforts under Operation Delta Sanity II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event was also aimed at enhancing civil-military relations between the Nigerian Navy and the Rumuolumeni community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aniaku stated that the medical rhapsody aligns with the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogala\u2019s Admiralty Model vision, mission, and strategic directive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The outreach was part of the activities marking the 2025 Nigerian Navy Week Celebration, which commemorates the 69th Nigerian Navy Anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is pertinent to state that NNS PATHFINDER had organised Educational Rhapsody in this community in October 2024 and Medical Rhapsody in December 2024. As you all know, health is wealth, and no community develops without good health. More so, health remains a powerful tool for personal and community growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis brings to the fore the importance the Nigerian Navy places on CSR, and as we all know, giving back to society is the essence of our existence.
