As part of his operational tour of Sokoto State and the North-West geopolitical zone, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has paid a courtesy visit to His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa\u2019ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, at his palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the visit, the Commandant General informed the revered monarch of the purpose of his tour, which includes assessing personnel performance, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, and enhancing the Corps\u2019 contribution to peace and security in the region. He emphasized the vital role of traditional institutions in fostering stability and called for the continued support of the Sultanate in achieving the Corps\u2019 mandate, particularly in conflict-prone areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Audi described the Sultan as a symbol of unity and peace, not only in Sokoto State but across Nigeria, and stressed the importance of community-based cooperation in combating insecurity. \u201cYour Eminence, your leadership and influence are critical in complementing our security efforts. We seek your continued guidance and support as we work to ensure peace, order, and national cohesion,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his response, His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, commended the NSCDC for the remarkable strides it has made in recent years. He lauded the Corps\u2019 growing reputation for professionalism, dedication, and effectiveness, stating that \u201cafter the military, the NSCDC has become one of the most operationally capable and dependable security agencies in Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sultan expressed appreciation for the Commandant General\u2019s visit, describing it as timely and significant. He pledged the full support of the Sultanate to the Corps in its efforts to protect lives, critical infrastructure, and public peace in Sokoto State and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This royal visit reinforces the NSCDC\u2019s commitment to community engagement and the critical partnership between security agencies and traditional leadership in addressing the root causes of insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
