{"id":7088,"date":"2025-04-16T07:07:11","date_gmt":"2025-04-16T07:07:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=7088"},"modified":"2025-04-16T07:12:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T07:12:00","slug":"nscdc-apprehends-wheelbarrow-pusher-for-killing-colleague-in-nasarawa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=7088","title":{"rendered":"NSCDC apprehends wheelbarrow pusher for killing colleague in Nasarawa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps has arrested a wheelbarrow pusher, Alfa Ali in the Lafia Local Government Area of the state for allegedly stabbing to death his colleague, Hayyatu Ibrahim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ali, a 20-year-old man, who works at the Angwan Maina Park in the LGA, was said to have had a heated argument with his colleague two days earlier over who would carry some goods brought to Lafia from Jos, the Plateau State capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbrain.com\/privacy\/privacy-policy-outbrain-dsp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the command, ASC Muhammed Suraju, disclosed in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital on Tuesday while parading a total of five suspects who were recently arrested for committing various crimes in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He explained that the victim who was stabbed with a horn by the suspect was immediately rushed for medical attention, but was pronounced dead by the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said, \u201cOn April 10, 2025, at about 2:00 pm, our men on patrol, within Lafia metropolis, apprehended one Alfa Ali, age 20, who allegedly stabbed his colleague, Hayyatu Ibrahim to death with a horn. He was about to take to his hill when he was arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen Hayyatu was rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, he was confirmed dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe suspect, Alfa Ali and the deceased, Hayyatu Ibrahim, according to our investigation, all hailed from Jigawa State and they are wheelbarrow pushers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.outbrain.com\/privacy\/privacy-policy-outbrain-dsp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey had a misunderstanding two days before the day of the incident on who should pick up the goods brought by a vehicle from Jos, at Angwan Maina Park here in Lafia, to a particular destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe case lingered in Alfa Ali\u2019s unforgiven heart until he finally achieved his nefarious aim by sending the deceased, Hayyatu Ibrahim to his early grave.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While noting that Ali has confessed to the crime of killing his colleague, the state\u2019s Deputy NSCDC spokesperson said the Commandant, Muhammed Ingawa has directed that, upon the conclusion of an investigation into the matter, the suspect should be charged to court for trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ASC Suraju urged residents to be wary of dealings with their friends, neighbours and colleagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
