{"id":6447,"date":"2025-03-19T02:25:31","date_gmt":"2025-03-19T02:25:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=6447"},"modified":"2025-03-19T02:26:15","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T02:26:15","slug":"army-alerts-aibom-residents-ahead-of-shooting-practice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=6447","title":{"rendered":"Army alerts A\u2019Ibom residents ahead of shooting practice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.punchng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/19021840\/Akwa-Ibom.png\" alt=\"Akwa Ibom map\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army in the Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has announced plans to hold this year\u2019s first quarter range classification exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exercise will begin today, March 19 and last till March 28, 2025, according to a statement by the acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lt Adebowale Adejimi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adejimi appealed to residents within the range area to stay off designated areas and not to panic at the sound of gunshots, adding that adequate preparations had been made for their safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe headquarters 2 Brigade, 2 Brigade Garrison, and other Sub-units are scheduled to hold the First Quarter Range Classification Exercise for the year 2025&nbsp; at 6 Bn Range Area in Abak LGA, from 19 \u2013 28 Mar 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cConsequently, the good people of Abak LGA are pleased requested to stay off the designated exercise area. They are also requested not to panic at the sound of gunshots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey are also to note that adequate measures have been emplaced for safety and security at the range area and environs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou are please requested to disseminate this to the general public for their awareness and safety. Thank you for your usual cooperatiom,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On March 13, the Nigerian Army, 82 Division, in Enugu State alerted residents to its shooting practice, scheduled to hold between March 17 and March 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>It urged residents not to panic at the sight of moving troops and gunshots.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army in the Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has announced plans to hold this year\u2019s first quarter range classification exercise.
