The Commander, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, on 4 March, 2025, undertook a working visit to the Amphibious Training School (ATS) in Calabar and commissioned the school\u2019s remodelled gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit, aimed at assessing the operational capabilities of the school, was marked by key engagements, including a facility tour, combat demonstrations, and the commissioning of a remodelled School Gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maj Gen Aligbe was received by the Commandant of ATS, Brigadier General Emmanuel Azenda, alongside the Commander 13 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Muftau Ibrahim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was briefed on the school\u2019s activities, achievements, and challenges at the Amphibious Staff Officers\u2019 Course Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The session provided valuable insights into ATS\u2019s operational readiness and training effectiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commander TRADOC emphasised the importance of continuous improvement in amphibious warfare training to enhance the Nigerian Army\u2019s capabilities in riverine and coastal operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A major highlight of the visit was the commissioning of the remodelled Amphibious Training School Gate, a project aimed at improving security and the school\u2019s overall aesthetic appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the commissioning ceremony, students of ATS showcased their skills in combat swimming and tower jumps at the school\u2019s poolside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, a demonstration of casting techniques at the jetty, executed by selected students, underscored the high level of training being conducted at the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To further evaluate the school\u2019s operational capacity, Maj Gen Aligbe toured various training facilities and inspected available equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing the instructors and students afterward, he reaffirmed his commitment to improving soldiers\u2019 welfare and training conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He highlighted Initiatives such as the Affordable Homes Ownership Option for All Soldiers (AHOOAS), an increase in ration cash allowance, and other policies designed to enhance the well-being of personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
General Aligbe also assured the school of the COAS\u2019s resolve to address its pressing needs, including the provision of essential kits and the restoration of unserviceable boats crucial for effective amphibious training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit was concluded with a luncheon at the Amphibious Hall, where the representative of the COAS engaged with officers, instructors, and students in a relaxed atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit underscored the Nigerian Army\u2019s dedication to professionalism, continuous training, and the welfare of its personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
