As one of the 60 member nations of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, today, 3rd March 2025, joined the global community in commemorating this year\u2019s International Civil Defence Day with the theme: \u2018Civil Defence: A Guarantee of Security for the Population.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The celebration, held at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin, brought together officers and men of the Command, offering prayers for continued peace, security, and the success of the Corps in fulfilling its mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his address, the State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, emphasized the significance of the day, noting that it serves as a platform to appreciate the tireless efforts of Nscdc personnel in ensuring public safety and national security. He reiterated the Command\u2019s unwavering commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, combating criminal activities, and responding swiftly to emergencies across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis year\u2019s celebration reminds us of our responsibility not only to respond to security challenges but also to engage in proactive measures through community sensitization and collaboration with relevant agencies. The NSCDC in Kwara State stands ever ready to defend the defenseless and protect our critical national assets.\u201d the Commandant stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
