The Nigerian Navy has intercepted 1,400 litres of illegally refined petroleum products in Agadagba, Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contraband, stored in 44 jerry cans, was being transported in a locally constructed wooden boat when it was intercepted by the Quick Response Team from the Agadagba Naval Outpost under the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Igbokoda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lieutenant Commander A.D. Morgan, the Base Operations Officer, revealed that the operation followed credible intelligence provided through maritime security channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Navy Captain Aliyu Usman, Commander of FOB Igbokoda, issued a stern warning to those engaging in oil theft and other illegal activities, urging them to leave the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Nigerian Navy is committed to securing the maritime domain and eliminating illegal operations. Perpetrators of economic sabotage must desist immediately,\u201d Usman stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The commander added that the seized boat and its contents would be deactivated according to established procedures and directives from Defence Headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis operation sends a clear message that the Nigerian Navy will not relent in combating illegal activities and protecting national assets,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Navy also acknowledged the efforts of Tantita Security Services and Gallery Security Services, whose intelligence contributions have been instrumental in the fight against crude oil theft and the protection of Nigeria\u2019s maritime resources.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
