{"id":3754,"date":"2024-12-17T06:52:48","date_gmt":"2024-12-17T06:52:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=3754"},"modified":"2024-12-17T06:55:30","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T06:55:30","slug":"nigerian-customs-intercepts-9-trucks-of-smuggled-rice-in-ogun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=3754","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Customs intercepts 9 trucks of smuggled rice in Ogun"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net\/tenant\/amp\/entityid\/AA1vZTZN.img?w=768&amp;h=576&amp;m=6\" alt=\"Nigerian Customs intercepts 9 trucks of smuggled rice in Ogun\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, says its operatives have confiscated nine trucks loaded with bags of smuggled rice in Ogun State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Comptroller of the Federal Operations Unit, FOU, zone A, Kola Oladeji, revealed this on Monday at a press briefing in Lagos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oladeji said the feat was achieved by customs officers under the FOU zone A, who prevented the smugglers from bringing the products into the country from the Republic of Benin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/popup.taboola.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, the smugglers abandoned their vehicles after sighting the operatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The comptroller further stated that the command mobilised six extra buses and 11 patrol vehicles to convey the products to the customs warehouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd, when our officers realized this, in compliance with our strategy of not shooting at any smugglers, they hired trucks and used some of our patrol vehicles to convey the items here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA breakdown of the vehicles used for conveying the seized bags of rice from the locations were nine trucks, six buses, and 11 patrol vehicles owned by the Nigeria Customs,\u201d Oladeji said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, says its operatives have confiscated nine trucks loaded with bags of smuggled rice in Ogun State.
