The Owa of Ayegbaju Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adewale Oluwatosin Adewole, has led members of his Council of Chiefs on a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, Commandant Sotiyo Igbalawole Emmanuel, at the State Command Headquarters.The traditional ruler said the visit was to formally welcome the Commandant to Ekiti State and inform him of the newly constructed office building donated by the Ayegbaju Ekiti community for the establishment of an NSCDC office in the town.Oba Adewole commended the NSCDC for its professionalism and proactive approach to security, noting that the community’s decision to provide the facility was driven by the need to bring the Corps closer to the people and strengthen security at the grassroots level.He expressed confidence that the presence of an NSCDC office in Ayegbaju Ekiti would improve security, promote peace, and contribute to the overall development of the community.Responding, Commandant Sotiyo Igbalawole Emmanuel expressed appreciation to the monarch, the Council of Chiefs, and the people of Ayegbaju Ekiti for their support and commitment to security. He described the donation of the office building as a demonstration of the community’s confidence in the Corps and its mandate.The Commandant highlighted the strategic role of the NSCDC in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, as well as its contributions to internal security in collaboration with other security agencies. He assured the delegation of the Command’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with traditional institutions and communities across the state.He further stated that community participation remains vital to effective security management, adding that the establishment of an NSCDC office in Ayegbaju Ekiti would enhance community based security efforts and deepen cooperation between the Corps and residents.Commandant Sotiyo also urged other communities in Ekiti State to emulate the gesture by partnering with the NSCDC in the collective effort to combat crime and ensure safer communities across the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
