The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Wuye Division, Abuja, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Yetunde Agana<\/strong>, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, convened a stakeholders’ meeting at Ruga 2 City Gate aimed at strengthening security, public order, and community-police relations within the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The meeting, which commenced at about 3:15 p.m., brought together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including members of the Hunters Group, Joint Task Force (JTF), Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), community leaders, women groups, youths, and other residents. The gathering provided an opportunity for participants to discuss pressing security and social issues affecting the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Addressing the participants, CSP Agana emphasized the need for peaceful political engagement ahead of electoral activities. She urged residents and political supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and embrace lawful electioneering practices capable of promoting peace, unity, and democratic stability within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A major issue discussed during the meeting was the growing menace of one-way motorcycle operators. The DPO warned commercial motorcycle riders against violating traffic regulations, stressing that reckless riding and the use of one-way routes endanger the lives of road users and contribute to avoidable accidents. She directed all riders to comply strictly with traffic laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The meeting also focused on the increasing concern over the consumption and distribution of illicit drugs. CSP Agana cautioned youths and community members against involvement in drug abuse and trafficking, noting that such activities often fuel criminality, violence, and social disorder. She reaffirmed the commitment of the police and other security agencies to identifying and prosecuting offenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Participants were further sensitized on the dangers of taking the law into their own hands. The DPO advised residents to refrain from jungle justice, self-help measures, or any form of unlawful retaliation. She stressed that all criminal matters should be promptly reported to the police for proper investigation and lawful resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As part of the resolutions reached, stakeholders agreed to support law enforcement efforts by providing credible information on criminal activities, promoting peaceful coexistence, discouraging drug-related offences, and encouraging compliance with traffic regulations. Community leaders, youth representatives, and security volunteers pledged to work closely with the police to sustain peace and security in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The meeting yielded positive results, with participants expressing commitment to the resolutions adopted. Stakeholders commended the initiative by CSP Yetunde Agana and pledged continued cooperation with the police and other security agencies to ensure a safer, more orderly, and law-abiding community.
