Innocent Azubuike and countless other military veterans raises troubling questions about whether the country truly values those who spent decades safeguarding its territorial integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For many retired military officers, retirement has become less a reward for service than a sentence of uncertainty. After years spent defending the nation in difficult and often dangerous conditions, many veterans face delayed benefits, inadequate pensions and mounting economic hardship.
