His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Grand Commander of the Federal Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Excellency Sir,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I write not from the comfort of political allegiance, but from the anguished depths of a Nigerian whose sacrosanct right to life and security you swore, before God and Man, to protect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is unambiguous: the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.<\/em> It enshrines the sacred duty of the state and the inalienable rights of every citizen, vesting institutions such as the the armed forces and the Nigeria Police Force with the solemn mandate to defend lives and property. The foundation of this covenant rests on two pillars: The Right to Life and the Security and welfare of the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baba, the Primary Purpose of Government as encapsulated in Section 14(2)(b) declares, with irrefutable clarity, that the security and welfare of the people constitute the paramount raison d\u2019\u00eatre of governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr President Sir, the Right to Life as enshrined in Section 33 of the Nigerian Constitution consecrates every person\u2019s inviolable right to life, stipulating that no person shall be deprived of life intentionally, except where the sanctity of self-defence, protection of property, or the execution of lawful authority demands it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Excellency Sir, these are not idle declarations inscribed on parchment. They are a blood-oath between the Presidency and the people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a formidable voice of opposition, you thundered against successive administrations, demanding resignation or immediate redemption from the grip of insecurity. You proclaimed, with unshakable conviction, that General Muhammadu Buhari, tempered in military steel, was the singular remedy to the paralysis that crippled President Goodluck Jonathan\u2019s government. A weary nation believed you, and entrusted you with its shattered hopes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, with the mantle of leadership upon you, accountability comes full circle. The burden of every Nigerian slain by kidnappers and marauding bandits rests on your desk. As Commander-in-Chief and Grand Commander of the Federal Republic, each life extinguished is a damning indictment of our collective failure to uphold Section 14(2)(b).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nigerians do not seek opulence. We plead for the right to breathe without fear. To till our land without dread. To send our children to school without penning final farewells. Yet today, our homeland hemorrhages. Insecurity metastasizes into national trauma. Our farmlands lie fallow, our highways are corridors of terror, and commerce cowers in death\u2019s shadow. No government can preside over a necropolis and call it leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your administration has shown surgical decisiveness when it declared a state of emergency in Rivers State over a political stalemate. Nigerians now implore you to deploy that same resolve where it matters most: in the preservation of human lives. We urge you to rise above the arithmetic of re-election and political legacy. Let history record that when Nigeria teetered on the brink, you chose the people over power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I therefore implore you, Mr. President: declare a nationwide state of emergency on insecurity without delay, before this inferno consumes what remains of our nation.<\/em> Institute, specifically, a seven-day national lockdown<\/em> across all epicenters of violence. Grant citizens 72 hours\u2019 notice to secure provisions and while Nigerians are allowed to bid loved ones well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During that week, let movement be sacrosanct only for the media and essential services, with uncompromising penalties for any violation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While our nation holds its breath in this enforced stillness, unleash the full, unrelenting force of the Nigerian Armed Forces. Let them sweep every forest, ravine, and hideout. Let intelligence operatives dismantle syndicates from the shadows. Deny criminals the oxygen of mobility. Grant our troops the battlefield clarity they deserve. This one decisive week can shatter the backbone of terror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, I urge you to legislate capital punishment for convicted kidnappers, bandits, and terrorists.<\/em> Sir, by the powers of Section 33, while guarding life, permits its lawful deprivation as punishment for the gravest offences, Nigerians no longer seek the illusion of rehabilitation for those who have desecrated humanity. The era of “repentant terrorists” must be buried. To extend mercy to murderers is to betray the martyrs and desecrate the grief of the bereaved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your Excellency Sir, posterity watches with unblinking eyes. Your legacy will not be forged by rhetoric, but by whether you choose to be the shield Nigeria so desperately needs. Let the constitutional mandate of security and welfare be the eternal inscription on your administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. President, let the security and welfare of Nigerians be your undeniable legacy.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yours, with trembling hope and unwavering faith in a redeemed Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
