{"id":26651,"date":"2026-07-20T19:32:04","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T19:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=26651"},"modified":"2026-07-20T19:33:49","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T19:33:49","slug":"sokoto-government-donates-vehicles-motorcycles-to-boost-nscdc-operations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=26651","title":{"rendered":"Sokoto Government Donates Vehicles, Motorcycles to Boost NSCDC Operations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By Tunji Braimoh, Abuja<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sokoto State Government has donated four operational vehicles and five motorcycles to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in a move aimed at strengthening security operations and enhancing the agency&#8217;s capacity to respond swiftly to threats across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto presented the vehicles and motorcycles to the Sokoto State Command of the NSCDC on Monday at the Government House in Sokoto, reaffirming his administration&#8217;s commitment to supporting security agencies with the logistics needed to safeguard lives and property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The donation forms part of the state&#8217;s efforts to deepen collaboration with security agencies and bolster the security architecture of Sokoto State amid ongoing efforts to tackle crime and other security challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The assets handed over to the corps include a Toyota Buffalo Bulletproof vehicle, a Toyota Buffalo VINI vehicle, two Toyota Buffalo operational vehicles, and five Bajaj motorcycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking after receiving the equipment, the Sokoto State Commandant of the NSCDC, CC E.A. Ajayi, commended the governor for the support, describing the gesture as a significant contribution to the operational effectiveness of the command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ajayi said the vehicles and motorcycles would improve the mobility of personnel, strengthen patrol operations, expand the command&#8217;s operational reach, and enhance rapid response to security incidents in different parts of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, the donation demonstrates the confidence reposed in the corps by the state government and underscores the importance of collective efforts in addressing security challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commandant assured the government and residents that the newly acquired assets would be deployed judiciously to support surveillance activities, intelligence-led operations, and emergency response missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He reiterated the commitment of the NSCDC to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure while working closely with other security agencies to maintain peace and public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ajayi also appealed to corporate organisations, development partners, traditional institutions, and members of the public to support security agencies, noting that sustainable security can only be achieved through broad-based collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He stressed that the fight against crime requires the active participation of all stakeholders, including government institutions, private organisations, and local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commandant further praised Governor Ahmed Aliyu for prioritising security and providing the resources necessary to strengthen the operational readiness of security personnel in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He noted that protecting lives, property, and public infrastructure remains a shared responsibility and called for continued vigilance and cooperation among residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NSCDC Sokoto State Command reaffirmed its resolve to sustain its partnership with the state government and other stakeholders in promoting peace, stability, and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Observers say the donation is expected to significantly improve the command&#8217;s operational efficiency and support ongoing efforts to
