President Bola Tinubu has commended Nigeria\u2019s security personnel for their bravery and sacrifices in confronting terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other security challenges across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement shared on his official X handle on Monday, the President praised frontline troops, describing them as a protective barrier standing between citizens and those who seek to destabilise the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou stand as a shield between innocent citizens and those who seek to destroy the peace, safety, and dignity of our communities,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tinubu acknowledged the difficult conditions under which security operatives serve, noting that they operate in forests, highways, creeks, airspace, and remote forward bases in defence of national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the fight against insecurity has demanded immense sacrifice, physical strain, and emotional resilience from personnel across the armed forces and other security agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite these challenges, the President noted that their courage and commitment have remained unwavering, adding that their service to the nation is deeply appreciated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He extended his gratitude not only to the military but also to personnel of the Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Department of State Services, and other intelligence and community security formations involved in maintaining peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tinubu also paid tribute to families of security personnel, acknowledging the emotional burden of long deployments, uncertainty, and the personal sacrifices made in support of national service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He honoured fallen heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing their sacrifice as a lasting contribution to Nigeria\u2019s stability and continued existence as a nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President urged Nigerians to view the fight against insecurity as a shared responsibility, stressing that effective security depends not only on armed forces but also on active citizen participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He called on the public to provide credible and timely information to security agencies, reinforcing the importance of community vigilance in combating criminal threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, \u201cWhen you see something, say something. When you know something, report it,\u201d emphasising the value of intelligence sharing in security operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tinubu reiterated that Nigeria would not surrender to fear or violence, insisting that terrorist groups, bandits, and kidnappers do not represent the values or identity of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He affirmed that the government remains fully committed to defeating insecurity and restoring peace across all regions of the federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
