{"id":244,"date":"2024-06-15T03:13:24","date_gmt":"2024-06-15T03:13:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=244"},"modified":"2024-06-15T03:14:29","modified_gmt":"2024-06-15T03:14:29","slug":"igp-suspends-special-promotions-decorates-27-senior-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=244","title":{"rendered":"IGP Suspends Special Promotions, Decorates 27 Senior Officers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun has henceforth suspended special promotions within the police, noting that it is jeopardising the job of officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The IGP, who was obviously angry at the rate at which some officers go to lobby for special promotions, noted that henceforth, anyone recommended for special promotions from powers above, will be disciplined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Egbetokun also said when the need arises for any officer to be promoted specially, the issue will be handled by the police management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also banned undue soliciting for posting, warning that anyone found guilty of this act will be dealt with in accordance with the law of the Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is even as he decorated 27 senior police officers, who were recently promoted from their initial ranks to a new rank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those newly decorated include one Deputy Inspector-General of Police; 11 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and 15 Commissioners of Police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun has henceforth suspended special promotions within the police, noting that it is jeopardising the job of officers.
