Governor Ahmed Aliyu has affirmed that the Federal Government and the Sokoto State Government are working in close collaboration to combat insecurity in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Governor made the remarks while paying Sallah homage to the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa\u2019ad Abubakar, at his palace shortly after Eid prayers. He assured residents that his administration continues to provide logistical and material support to conventional security agencies and the State Community Guard Corps to enhance safety across Sokoto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Governor Aliyu called for the continued cooperation of citizens, urging them to support government initiatives and security agencies in their efforts to maintain peace. He also reiterated his administration\u2019s commitment to an open-door policy, ensuring that the aspirations and concerns of the people are addressed promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Governor further encouraged Islamic scholars to intensify prayers for peaceful coexistence in Sokoto and throughout Nigeria. He expressed appreciation to Muslim preachers who conducted Tafseer sessions during Ramadan, highlighting the importance of educating the faithful on the teachings of the Qur\u2019an. He also urged them to continue emphasizing the Five Pillars of Islam to deepen understanding of worship and devotion to Almighty Allah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Responding, Sultan Muhammad Sa\u2019ad Abubakar commended Governor Aliyu for the numerous people-oriented projects being executed across the state, describing the administration\u2019s efforts as transformative. \u201cYour Excellency, do not relent in your service to our state. The Sultanate Council stands firmly behind you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sultan also lauded security agencies for their dedication to protecting lives and property, urging them to sustain the current momentum. In a statement issued by his Director-General of Media and Publicity, Abubakar Bawa, the Sultan appealed to Nigerians to continue praying for the nation\u2019s leaders for divine guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sultan Sa\u2019ad Abubakar further called on citizens to rally around the state government in its mission to transform Sokoto and strengthen social cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Adding to the security discourse, Governor Aliyu announced plans to expand community policing initiatives and strengthen intelligence-sharing networks between local communities and law enforcement agencies. These measures, he said, are part of a broader strategy to preempt criminal activities and ensure rapid response to security threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
