Nigeria\u2019s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has stated that terrorists and bandits across the country are suffering significant losses despite reports in some sections of the media suggesting otherwise. He made the remarks after a high level security meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where the country\u2019s security situation was extensively reviewed.
General Musa explained that ongoing military operations across different theatres have continued to degrade the capabilities of criminal groups. According to him, several insurgent commanders have been eliminated in recent operations, weakening the structure and coordination of the terrorist networks.
\u201cWe want Nigerians to understand that the Armed Forces are making steady progress. Many of the terrorists and bandit leaders are being neutralised, and their camps are being dismantled on a regular basis,\u201d he said. He added that the military remains focused and determined to sustain the momentum until lasting peace is achieved across the country.
The Defence Chief further reassured Nigerians that the Armed Forces, in collaboration with other security agencies, remain fully committed to restoring peace and stability nationwide. \u201cWe are confident that victory is certain.
