The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to stronger inter-agency collaboration to address security challenges in the state.
This was highlighted during a courtesy visit by the Commander of the 17 Brigade of the Nigeria Army in Katsina, Brigadier General MI Ibrahim, to the State Commandant of NSCDC, Commandant of Corps A.D. Moriki, at the Command Headquarters in Katsina on Friday, March 6, 2026.
During the visit, Brigadier General Ibrahim commended the longstanding working relationship between the Nigeria Army and the NSCDC, stressing the importance of continued cooperation among security agencies in maintaining peace and stability in the state. He assured that the brigade under his leadership would further strengthen the existing partnership to enhance safety and security across Katsina State.
\u201cNSCDC and the Nigeria Army share a long history of partnership, and this relationship will be strengthened during my tenure as the Brigade Commander,\u201d he said.
In his response, Commandant Moriki welcomed the new Brigade Commander to Katsina State and praised the Nigeria Army for its sustained efforts in combating terrorism and other forms of criminality across the country.
He assured the Army of the Corps\u2019 readiness to deepen synergy, cooperation, and collaboration with all relevant security stakeholders to effectively tackle security challenges in the state.
\u201cNSCDC will continue to cooperate and collaborate with the Nigeria Army and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of citizens in the state,\u201d the Commandant said.
In a related development, Commandant Moriki also received the Director-General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu; the Katsina State Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, CC Abdulrashid Sule; and the Acting Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Katsina Zonal Directorate, Mr. Chinedu Ozugha, on a familiarisation visit to his office.
In their separate remarks, the visiting officials expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration and partnership with the NSCDC in promoting peace, security, and effective service delivery.
Responding, the State Commandant appreciated the visits and reiterated the Corps\u2019 commitment to sustained cooperation and collaboration with all relevant agencies in the collective effort to ensure peace and security in Katsina State.
