{"id":21664,"date":"2026-03-01T11:13:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T11:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=21664"},"modified":"2026-03-01T11:14:41","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T11:14:41","slug":"gunmen-abduct-father-of-former-ebonyi-deputy-governor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=21664","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen Abduct Father of Former Ebonyi Deputy Governor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Francis Igwe, father of former Ebonyi State Deputy Governor Kelechi Igwe, has been kidnapped by armed assailants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday morning as he was traveling to church in his Ndufu-Alike community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to local sources, Mr. Igwe was driving when gunmen on a motorcycle intercepted his vehicle. The attackers allegedly forced him out of his car and carried him away on their motorcycle to an unknown location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, Sunday Nwankwo, confirmed the abduction and said the council is cooperating with security agencies to gather information and facilitate a swift rescue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Efforts to reach the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, Joshua Ukandu, for comment were unsuccessful, as calls and messages went unanswered at the time of reporting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mr. Francis Igwe, father of former Ebonyi State Deputy Governor Kelechi Igwe, has been kidnapped by armed assailants.
