The Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, has called on key stakeholders across the country to partner strategically with the Service to strengthen fire prevention efforts and reduce the rising incidence of fire outbreaks nationwide.
Adeyemi made the call on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, during a courtesy visit by representatives of Renaissance Africa Energy to the Service Headquarters.
The delegation, led by the company\u2019s Emergency Response Manager, Prof. Abatam Nwosu, highlighted Renaissance Africa Energy\u2019s investments in safety systems, personnel training, and proactive fire prevention measures aimed at protecting lives, infrastructure, and host communities. He stated that the visit was to explore areas of collaboration with the Federal Fire Service to further strengthen emergency preparedness and response capacity.
In his remarks, the Controller-General emphasized that effective fire safety management requires a multi-sectoral approach and cannot be handled by the government alone. He noted that the Service welcomes Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and technical partnerships that can improve operational efficiency, enhance community awareness, and build national resilience against fire disasters.
He explained that closer collaboration would boost early detection and reporting of fire incidents, improve emergency response coordination, and expand public education on fire safety across communities. According to him, such partnerships would also support specialized training and capacity development for firefighters, ensure the availability and proper maintenance of modern firefighting equipment, and ultimately reduce the loss of lives, property, and critical infrastructure.
