Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, has arrested one Kemi Kolawole (Female, 28 years), a resident of Ifeleye, Ogunpa, Ibadan, and a native of Oyo Town, Oyo State, in connection with an alleged human trafficking case involving a 17-year-old girl, Ayomide Olayiwola, who was reportedly trafficked to C\u00f4te d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) for prostitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The arrest was effected on Thursday, 22 January 2026, following a report received at NSCDC Anti-Human Trafficking Unit on Tuesday, 20 January 2026 from the victim\u2019s elder sister, Temilade Olayiwola (Female, 25 years).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred on 25 November 2025. It is alleged that the suspect, Kemi Kolawole, along with her husband, Oni Kayode (Male, 32 years), a native of Oyo Town, Oyo State, who is currently at large, orchestrated the trafficking of Ayomide Olayiwola to Libya for prostitution. While investigations into the full details and network of the illicit operation are still ongoing, the Command confirmed that the victim was allegedly lured with false promises before being trafficked abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSCDC, Oyo State Command, further established that the victim was brought into contact with the alleged syndicate through one Rodiat Lawal, an apprentice at the suspect\u2019s shop located within Ifeleye, Ogunpa Market, Ibadan, where the suspect reportedly sells slippers, shoes, and other items. The victim reportedly approached Rodiat Lawal expressing her desire to secure a job opportunity, after which she was introduced to the suspects. Rodiat Lawal is a friend of the victim, Ayomide Olayiwola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The State Commandant has advised members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity that may be linked to human trafficking to NSCDC or relevant sister agencies for swift response and protection of vulnerable persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSCDC, Oyo State Command, reiterates its firm commitment to combating human trafficking and other related offences, stressing that the Command will continue to intensify efforts aimed at rescuing victims and ensuring that all persons involved in the crime are brought to justice. The Command also urges members of the public to always \u201csay something when they see something.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the conclusion of investigation, the suspect will be charged to court, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspect, Oni Kayode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
