Muhammad Anas, Controller of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) FCT Command, has announced that with over 3,000 firefighters, the service is fully prepared to safeguard lives and property as residents celebrate Christmas and New Year.
The controller reaffirmed the readiness of FCT fire personnel while addressing Station Commanders during the official launch of \u2018Yuletide Operation Swift Response to Emergencies\u2019 on Tuesday at the FFS FCT Command Headquarters.
According to Anas, the FCT currently operates 24 fire stations, staffed with more than 3,000 functional personnel, all strategically deployed to ensure maximum safety during the festive period. He directed the station commanders to enforce these measures strictly, ensuring that all personnel remain at their duty posts throughout the holidays.
He further revealed that the FFS Controller-General, Samuel Olumode, has instructed that all fire trucks, equipment, and resources must be fully operational and ready for immediate deployment at any time. \u201cThe chemical form must be intact, water cached at the right level, vehicles sound, and men available,\u201d he said.
The command head also urged FCT residents to keep the fire service emergency numbers handy for swift response. \u201cEven if your animals fall into a well, you should call the fire service emergency contact: 080-3200-3557 or the toll-free number: 112, and we will respond promptly. It is also important for residents to familiarize themselves with the nearest fire station and its contact information to prevent delays during emergencies,\u201d he advised.
Controller Anas cautioned residents against leaving household appliances switched on while traveling, emphasizing that prevention is cheaper than firefighting. \u201cBefore leaving for Christmas travels, ensure all appliances are disconnected from the socket, not just switched off, to prevent fire incidents.\u201d He appreciated the dedication of his personnel and encouraged them to intensify their efforts throughout the festive period.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
