{"id":1936,"date":"2024-07-22T13:28:07","date_gmt":"2024-07-22T13:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=1936"},"modified":"2024-07-22T13:32:44","modified_gmt":"2024-07-22T13:32:44","slug":"breaking-police-arrest-prison-escapee-behind-generals-murder-in-kano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/psmnigeria.org\/?p=1936","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING: Police arrest prison escapee behind general\u2019s murder in Kano"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested one Hashiru Baku \u2013 the mastermind behind the murder of late Brigadier General Harold Udokwere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Udokwere, who was the National Chairman, Retired Members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, was murdered by armed robbers who invaded his residence on June 22, 2024, and took away his gun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The police arrested and paraded Ibrahim Rabiu, Nafiu Jamil, Aliyu Abdullahi and Mohammed Nuhu in connection with the crime on June 24, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing journalists on Monday while parading arrested suspects, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh said Baku was arrested in Kano State while trying to run away from the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" id=\"attachment_1663485\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.punchng.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/22141350\/bAKU.jpg\" alt=\"The suspect, Hashiru Baku\" class=\"wp-image-1663485\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The suspect, Hashiru Baku<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Igweh said the suspect was an escapee from the Kuje Correctional Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said, \u201cI did show you the four killers, kidnappers, and robbers that went and killed Brigadier-General Uwe Harrod, retired. Today, I will show you the organiser of the killing and the robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs well as we have recovered the general\u2019s gun that was with him. We have recovered the wristwatch of the general and the wife\u2019s jewellery which they stole from the general\u2019s house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe organiser is here and we have arrested him. He is the organiser. He was in prison and during the Kuje Correctional Centre attack, he escaped.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The police boss added that \u201cinstead of him to repent, he continued with more audacity. We arrested him in Kano where he was trying to exit the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe recovered these drugs in his residence.
