Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on Saturday addressed troops of the 25 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Damboa, reaffirming the unwavering support of the state government and its people for their courageous fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the front line military base, the governor expressed deep sympathy for the officers and soldiers, acknowledging their immense personal sacrifices and tireless commitment. He praised what he described as their \u201cgiant effort and supreme sacrifice\u201d in securing Borno State and protecting civilians from insurgent threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zulum said, \u201cOn behalf of the government and the good people of Borno State, we are here in Damboa to commiserate with you over the recent setback that claimed the lives of some of your colleagues. It is a painful incident, and I extend my condolences to you and to the families of all the officers and men who lost their lives in the line of duty. We pray that Almighty Allah grants quick recovery to those injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor those of you who remain alive and healthy, we pray that God continues to protect you, strengthen you, and give you the wisdom to carry out your duties effectively. You have done exceptionally well, and we acknowledge and appreciate your service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOnce again, on behalf of the government and the good people of Borno State, I sympathise with you and assure you that we will continue to support your mission and vision to end this crisis within the limits of our available resources.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The governor was received by the Brigade Commander of the 25 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Igwe Patrick Omokeh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The visit formed part of Governor Zulum\u2019s tour of communities in southern Borno. Earlier in the day, he met with grieving families in Chibok, where he offered condolences over the recent loss of lives and destruction of property. He also provided immediate relief to affected households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While addressing the Chibok community, the governor announced decisive steps to enhance security and protect vulnerable settlements. He confirmed that the state government, in partnership with the federal government and security agencies, is implementing stronger measures to prevent further attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are here to offer our condolences over the tragic incidents of recent days in the Chibok area, especially to the families of those who lost their lives. The situation is painful, and we stand with you during this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDeath comes at its appointed time, and we pray for comfort for all affected. By God\u2019s grace, the insecurity in Chibok will be addressed. We will provide a permanent solution and bring an end to this situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will take action. Please remain patient. Our thoughts are with you, and I am encouraged by the calmness and resilience you have shown by staying in your communities despite everything,\u201d Zulum said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
