The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption with the inauguration of new Heads of its Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) and the official unveiling of a comprehensive Corruption Prevention Strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commandant General (CG) of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, urged the newly inaugurated ACTU Heads to lead with integrity, uphold transparency, and enforce compliance without fear or favour. He encouraged them to resist undue influence and remain steadfast in promoting accountability across the Corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Represented by the Deputy Commandant General (Administration), DCG Adeyinka Fasiu Ayinla, CG Audi delivered the keynote address at a one-day sensitization workshop, inauguration ceremony, and integrity award event held at the NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He explained that the new Corruption Prevention Strategy is aimed at curbing misconduct, strengthening due process, and enhancing internal discipline within the organisation. The CG expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, through the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for their continued support in advancing institutional reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN\u2014represented by Mr. Olusegun Adigun, fsi\u2014emphasized that corruption erodes public trust, undermines service delivery, distorts development priorities, and weakens national security. He pledged the ICPC\u2019s continued partnership with the NSCDC in implementing preventive anti-corruption frameworks across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, Acting Commandant Audrey Obeh, Chairman of the NSCDC ACTU, described the event as a \u201ctransformative milestone\u201d that reflects the Corps\u2019 unwavering dedication to integrity and national progress. She commended the Commandant General for providing a strong institutional foundation that enables ACTU to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe inauguration of ACTU Heads, presentation of integrity awards, and the unveiling of our corruption prevention strategy underscore our deliberate commitment to strengthening accountability within the Corps,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
