Troops of the Nigerian Army 6 Brigade have restored calm in Usmanu Village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State following renewed communal tensions. During the operation, four armed individuals were neutralized and several weapons were recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations for the Brigade, confirmed the development in a Sunday statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The deployment followed credible intelligence about a resurgence of the long-standing land dispute between the Shomo and Wurkun communities, which had escalated into clashes and the burning of homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Troops came under fire shortly after arriving, prompting a brief exchange during which four assailants were subdued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sweep of the area led to the recovery of three dane guns, a fabricated AK-47 rifle, 25 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and two motorcycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One personnel of the Nigeria Police Force was also arrested for allegedly collaborating with the armed group. He is currently under investigation to determine his level of involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, praised the troops for their swift and professional action. He reiterated the Brigade\u2019s commitment to stabilizing the state and maintaining operational momentum across all areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
General Uwa assured residents of the military\u2019s dedication to peace and urged communities to embrace dialogue, support security agencies, and work together to prevent violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
