The Federal Fire Service, Niger State Command, has officially commenced the 2025 National Fire Safety Week with a highly engaging Public Lecture held at the Conference Hall of the Federal Secretariat Complex, Minna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the theme \u201cBuilding a Culture of Fire Safety Across Nigeria: Overcoming the \u2018Not My Portion\u2019 Mentality,\u201d<\/strong> the event brought together key stakeholders committed to advancing fire safety awareness throughout the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The lecture attracted Government Officials, Heads of Security Agencies\u2014including the Nigerian Army, NSCDC, FRSC, Nigeria Immigration Service, and NDLEA\u2014alongside leaders of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Market Associations, Community Leaders, Business Owners, and members of the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In his welcome address, the State Controller of the Federal Fire Service, Niger State Command, ACF Alkali Danjuma Muhammad<\/strong>, thanked all attendees and emphasized that fire safety is a shared responsibility. He reiterated the Command\u2019s strong commitment to continuous public enlightenment, enhanced partnerships with institutions, and improved emergency response across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The keynote presentation, delivered by ASF I Suleiman Omuya<\/strong>, provided an insightful and engaging breakdown of fire risks, common causes of fires, and the dangers of negligence. He urged citizens to discard the \u201cNot My Portion\u201d mindset and adopt proactive fire safety practices in homes, workplaces, markets, and public spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A compelling drama sketch by officers of the Command added value to the program. The performance illustrated the dangers of fuel tanker accidents and the deadly consequences of scooping fuel, reinforcing the need for safe behavior during emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Goodwill messages from dignitaries in attendance commended the Federal Fire Service for its leadership role and sustained efforts in fire prevention and public education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Delivering the Vote of Thanks, the Zonal Controller, Federal Fire Service Zone D, CF Mustapha Bello Kibiya<\/strong>, expressed profound appreciation to invited guests, security agencies, market leaders, MDAs, and participants for their support.
