The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government, and Nigerians on the nation\u2019s 65th Independence Anniversary, while urging unity, patriotism, and renewed commitment to national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Association described Nigeria\u2019s 65 years of nationhood as a period marked by resilience, diversity, and the indomitable spirit of its people. It, however, noted that the milestone also provides an opportunity for sober reflection on the challenges confronting the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AANI commended the sacrifices of the Armed Forces, security agencies, and law enforcement officers in the fight against insurgency, banditry, terrorism, and other security threats. The Association urged them to intensify their efforts, adopt innovative strategies, and sustain the momentum until lasting peace is achieved across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Association further called on the three tiers of government, local, state, and federal to prioritise the safety and security of all citizens, stressing that \u201csecurity is the foundation upon which unity, development, and prosperity rest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAANI believes strongly that national security cannot be the responsibility of government alone. It requires the collaborative effort of all citizens, institutions, and stakeholders,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Association also encouraged Nigerians to rise above ethnic, religious, and political divides, and to embrace patriotism, integrity, and service to the common good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt 65, our unity remains our greatest strength. In unity and collective resolve, we can defeat the forces that threaten our peace and chart a future worthy of our founding fathers\u2019 dreams,\u201d AANI declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
