The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) today held its first official muster parade under the leadership of its newly deployed State Commandant, Brah Samson Umoru. The event, which took place at the Command Headquarters in Lafia, the state capital, marked the beginning of a new era of discipline and renewed commitment to duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his maiden address to officers and men of the Corps, Commandant Brah underscored the importance of discipline and professionalism as the foundation of effective service delivery. He urged personnel to uphold three key principles he described as vital to maintaining order and integrity within the Corps: punctuality, neatness, and permission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Commandant, punctuality is a clear sign of discipline and dedication to duty, neatness reflects the dignity and public image of the Corps, while seeking permission promotes accountability and strengthens the command structure. He maintained that strict adherence to these values would boost morale among personnel and improve the overall efficiency of the Command in line with the vision of the NSCDC leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commandant Brah cautioned against laxity, absenteeism, and negligence, noting that such practices undermine the credibility of the Corps. He called on officers and men to see themselves as ambassadors of the NSCDC and to discharge their duties with integrity, loyalty, and commitment to public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further assured that under his leadership, the Command would be people-focused, responsible, and disciplined, adding that he was determined to sustain public confidence in the NSCDC through professionalism and effective service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The parade, attended by senior officers, rank and file, as well as administrative staff of the Command, served as both a symbolic and practical call to duty. It highlighted the new leadership\u2019s resolve to consolidate on the NSCDC\u2019s core mandate of protecting critical national assets, ensuring public safety, and promoting community peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
