Nigerian Army troops deployed across multiple operations have foiled terror attacks, rescued kidnapped victims, and recovered arms and ammunition in coordinated missions within the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A reliable source at Army Headquarters disclosed on Saturday that the operations took place in Kebbi, Katsina, Edo, Niger, Plateau, and Abia states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Kebbi, troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA<\/em> responded to a distress call at Dundaye village in Augie Local Government Area around 7:30 p.m. on Friday. On arrival, they discovered that terrorists had killed two civilians and rustled cattle. Though the criminals fled through their withdrawal route before contact was made, troops intensified patrols to deny them freedom of movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Similarly, troops of the 17 Brigade in Katsina responded to gunfire in Layin Minista village, Malumfashi LGA, at about 10:50 p.m. the same night. The terrorists, who had abducted two women, fled upon sighting the soldiers. Aggressive patrols are ongoing to ensure the victims\u2019 safe release and restore public confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Edo State, troops of the 4 Brigade under Operation MESA<\/em> carried out a midnight search-and-rescue mission on August 29 in Ugboha community, Esan South-East LGA.
