The Plateau State Government has renewed its call for the creation of state police as part of efforts to address the unique security challenges confronting the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, restated the demand during a live programme on Dr Fish FM, Jos, stressing that Governor Caleb Mutfwang remains consistent in advocating state policing as a complementary solution to federally controlled security agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ramnap explained that while the state continues to collaborate with federal security formations, a state policing system would bring law enforcement closer to the grassroots, making responses to local threats more effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She noted that Plateau\u2019s security realities demand tailored approaches, particularly to ensure peace and safety in rural communities vulnerable to attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commissioner assured that the government is committed to strengthening security through personnel deployment, improved community vigilance, and ongoing engagement with stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
